Compassionate and Friendly Care
Living with a missing tooth can be seriously detrimental to your self-confidence. No one feels comfortable knowing they have a big gap in the middle of their teeth when they flash a smile. In fact, a study conducted by the Academy of General Dentistry found that 86 percent of people who have had permanent tooth loss also suffer from social embarrassment.
Many of our patients with damaged or missing teeth don’t realize how easy it is to restore your smile with attractive dental implants. Whether you’re missing one or more teeth, Dr. Bauer can give you a smile that looks like new with minimal discomfort.
If you’re feeling anxious about implant surgery, Dr. Bauer features oral conscious sedation. It allows you to remain conscious throughout the procedure, but your anxiety will be relieved.
Our care is designed to optimize your comfort and safety. Placing a dental implant requires a minor surgical procedure that’s performed here in our office by Dr. Bauer. Fortunately, Dr. Bauer has extensive training and experience in implant dentistry. He uses advanced technology to ensure the proper placement of your implants, and this helps reduce your recovery time and make the experience as pain-free as possible.
For a single-tooth restoration, Dr. Bauer will surgically attach the implant fixture to your jawbone. Because the fixture is made from titanium, a biocompatible material, the bones will naturally form a secure attachment to it. This process is known as osseointegration, and it’s essential to the success of your dental implants.
Once your body has become fully acclimated to the implant fixture, you’ll return to our office so Dr. Bauer can place the porcelain implant crown. Porcelain is a durable material that sparkles in the light just like natural teeth do. Your crown is custom-made to blend in with the rest of your smile.
If you have more than one missing tooth, don’t worry. We have solutions for that too at Bauer & Howard Dental Care. If the empty sockets aren’t next to one another, we’ll use individual implants to restore each missing tooth.
For patients who have more than one adjacent missing teeth, Dr. Bauer could elect to use an implant-supported bridge. This is a single prosthetic that replaces more than one tooth. It’s secured in place using two or more dental implants.
The Healthy Choice
Whether you’re looking to restore one or more teeth, dental implants are the best restoration for maintaining a healthy and attractive smile. They help preserve your teeth by promoting essential jawbone growth and preventing your remaining natural teeth from shifting around.
