Your Free Implant Consultation
When patients walk into one of our three dental offices in Hastings or Doniphan, we always want to make sure they feel at home — especially those of you who are anxious about receiving dental care.
Our friendly and welcoming environment is where you’ll meet Dr. Bauer for your free consultation. He’ll sit down with you and listen to your goals and concerns so he can recommend the treatment that’s right for you. Your free consultation includes a complimentary examination using our iCAT 3D imaging technology to determine if dental implants are the ideal solution for your missing teeth.
In some cases, patients who are good candidates for dental implants require one or more supplemental treatments to get ready for the implant process. For these patients, Dr. Bauer typically recommends a procedure to create the ideal conditions for success, such as
bone grafting or treatment for gum disease.
Your consultation is a good opportunity to bring up any questions you may have about the dental implant process. During this time, we’ll go over your cost of treatment and your individual treatment plan. We lay it all out for you so there won’t be any hidden fees or surprises down the road.
Placing Your Unique Restoration
If you decide to go with dental implants, you can sit down with someone from our office to arrange your treatment calendar.
The next step is placing the titanium fixture which serves as the base for your dental implant. During this minimally invasive procedure, Dr. Bauer will make a small hole in your jawbone and insert the fixture. Because titanium is biocompatible, your bones will naturally develop a strong and secure attachment to it.
Your Stunning New Smile
After your dental implant fixture is placed, your body will require some healing time before you’re ready for Dr. Bauer to add the finishing touch — your natural-looking permanent restoration. Our state-of-the-art technology allows us to mill your crown right here in our office. This saves you time and money because we don’t need to send your request out to a laboratory.
Your attractive porcelain crown is the only portion of the dental implant that your friends and family will see. With your stunning new smile, you’ll be ready to face the world, free to eat what you want, and to laugh and smile whenever you feel like it.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is osseointegration?
Osseointegration is a necessary step in the dental implant process in which an artificial implant is permanently and surgically anchored into the jaw bone. It then integrates into the bone and grows into the implant for a stable, reliable foundation for your new restoration. Without osseointegration, the dental implant would not heal successfully for long-lasting results.
How long does the dental implant procedure take?
Generally, the dental implant process requires two surgical procedures and can take anywhere from six to eight months. This is dependent on several factors, such as the number of implants placed and whether a supplemental procedure is required.
The only way to get an accurate timeline of your treatment plan is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Bauer. He’ll review your medical history, examine your oral health, and create a customized treatment plan with a detailed outline of your procedures.
